In line with the vision of his Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum in making Dubai the "Capital of Islamic Economy" covering seven pillars and 46 initiatives; Dubai must reflect certain attributes:: 1- Establishment of Dubai as a global reference and economic engine of Islamic finance, 2- A trusted name and solutions provider for the halal industry, 3- A destination of choice for family friendly tourism, 4- A pioneer of the Islamic digital economy, 5- A capital of Islamic fashion, arts and design, 6- A leading global network of information and education on the Islamic economy, and 7- A world class centre for Islamic economy standards and certification And inline with the Initiative of Sheikh Faisal Al Qassimi's "Seek Knowledge", aafaq Islamic Finance launched aafaq Center for Research in Islamic Economy-ACRIE. The Center,in supporting the initiative of the global network of information and education on the Islamic Economy, will conduct thematic, multidisciplinary research addressing strategic and practical research questions in Islamic Economy. Its main mission and scope is to develop a competitive portfolio of research and establish an international platform for experts and practitioners and academics in Islamic Economy. ACRIE Leadership will be evidenced by the volume of technical specialized reports, refereed magazines, publications, online services and information, capacity building, an applied journal and in a further stage consultancy services.
