Aanandaa is a sustainability project founded in 2011 by Agam and Manisha Lath Gupta. As the couple's lives crisscrossed between the natural world and the corporate corridors for over a decade, they learnt the mysterious & magical ways in which nature works, and the speed with which we are destroying them.At times, there is a lack of understanding or a 'blind spot' about the harmful effects of our growth-driven mindset. At other times, there is a lack of political will within our capitalist corporate structures to call out the elephant in the room. As a result, most businesses and corporates do not have sustainability as a core value. Living and working on a farm like Aanandaa highlights the fragility of our ecosystem. And Permaculture gives us an ethical framework to build back the ecosystem and make it resilient once again.These principles apply as much to business & corporates as they do to the natural world. Daily work at Aanandaa also highlighted the lessons nature has in store for us business folk - whether it is leadership, or D&I, or culture building - it is an inspired and inspiring atmosphere to learn. It's really all out there for us to see. Nature knows it first, knows it better, and is constantly giving us signals. We need to slow down, spend a day at Aanandaa to hear her speak, and partake of her wisdom.
