Abdulatif Alhamad University of Technology is a public university, which was established in 2015. It was founded because the country was in need of new projects which would improve Sudan agriculturally, industrially and in a number of other ways. It is one of the key development projects in the region, along with the Merowe Dam, Merowe Medical City and Merowe Airport. All of these projects made the founding of a university a necessity to help further improve Sudan, specifically here in Northern State.VisionThe university's vision is to be a ‘productive, technological' university which helps produce first-class research and graduates. It will also help to improve society as a whole.MissionThe university's mission is to develop the knowledge and expertise needed to build the country's manpower by producing skilled, professional and highly-qualified graduates. The university meets up to international standards of higher education and is committed to community values and ethics. AimsThe university seeks to achieve the following aims: Using scientific methods that will help in making university undergraduate and postgraduate programs in all subjects. Achieve requirements of sustainable development through the creation of specialized research centers, concerned with research and development. Keep abreast of scientific developments through continuous modernization and constant development of curricula for all levels and subjects. Invest in the local community and help overcome problems and issues by building civic centers staffed by highly-qualified employees. These centers can be used for training. Promote co-operation with other scientific institutions and research centers around the globe to ensure the university is continuously progressing
