Ably (formerly TravelEZ) is an accessibility platform that helps people with movement difficulties plan dinners, vacations, and everything in between without the hassles that result from lacking the right information in advance. Users and Ably raters upload reviews of restaurants, hotels, and attractions that are meant to be as objective as possible, so that people can make decisions for themselves based on their own abilities. Reviews include pictures to make this possible.Ably is mainly for people with moderate to drastic ambulatory difficulties, as well as their friends, family, and anybody who is with them. Examples include people with Spinal Cord Injury (SCI), Multiple Sclerosis (MS), recent hip or knee surgery, slow walkers with low stamina, and people who rely on walkers, canes, or oxygen tanks. Of course, Ably can be useful for anyone.The fact that a place is ADA compliant does not mean it is sufficiently accessible. "Accessible" restrooms that are only accessible byclimbing a set of stairs, restaurants with only raised booth seating or bar stool seating, and attractions that lack wheelchairs to borrow and seating throughout the venue prove this to be true.Calling ahead and looking for accessibility online can be inaccurate, uncomfortable, embarrassing, and time-consuming. Relying on word-of-mouth limits users' to their local network and won't cut it when traveling far away. The interface is a fun, intuitive, and efficient way for users to find the places they want. What's more, users can see information on other places around them.
