Academia Mentis is a private tutoring school for Belgian high school students. Courses are organized in small groups from 2 to 4 students. This approach is bringing together the advantages of both one-to-one tutoring i.e. the personalization and homework centres i.e. the dynamism. Teachers are MA students who followed a training in pedagogy. The age proximity is central: it allows the younger students to open themselves and really feel understood. The coaches followed their education in the same schools than the students. They are thus very familiar with schoolteachers and specific programs. A recurrent support coupled with a continuous follow-up is the key to success. It allows the coaches to early identify the shortcomings and address them in time to succeed the schools' evaluations. Acting as a partner for the parents, Academia plays an intermediary role between home and school and offers a real working environment.
