Accessible Diagnostics is developing a novel, smartphone based, saliva glucose test system that is easy for pet owners to monitor their diabetic pets at home. Once a veterinary market is established, the Vet-Tab product can be the technology platform for a human product for which there is a much larger global market available after required regulatory testing. In the United States, there are approximately 150 million pet dogs and cats, an estimated 500,000 to 1 million of whom are diagnosed with diabetes. Many owners consider pets family members and are willing to pay out-of-pocket for healthcare from approximately 50,000 companion animal veterinarians in the US. At the Southeast Veterinary Conference in June 2017, the Company achieved two significant milestones by presenting the science underlying the Vet-Tab systems and mading about 50 demonstrations of a prototype. The Company has participated in three veterinary conferences and followed up via email with 750 attendees. We have engaged one-on-one with numerous veterinarians, tested dozens of diabetic dogs with their owners and at animal hospitals and humane societies, and engaged with a Facebook group of over 7,300 pet owners of diabetic dogs. Many pet owners are reticent to prick their diabetic pets to draw a drop of blood to monitor their glucose. Vets and pet owners have both told us that a saliva test can be a "game changer" for monitoring a pet's glucose at home. The Company believes it has validated the veterinary market for a saliva glucose monitoring system for pet owners, which may be tens of millions of dollars in the US and a similar size in Europe.
