Many small businesses have an Accountant or Bookkeeper handling day-to-day accounting activities, but do not have the resources to hire a CFO or Controller. The Owner or CEO may desire senior financial leadership to help him or her run the business more effectively and profitably, as well as oversee the activities and responsibilities of the Accountant or Bookkeeper. This can also reduce the risk of fraud or errors, as critical duties such as cash recording and reconciling can be segregated.
