Statement of IntentWe provide Specialized Services through Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) to support families to learn strategies to promote their child's skill development and to improve overall quality of life. Through active participation in the home and community, our team offers unique training, coaching, and collaborative supports to families.Our primary focus is to build capacity of family members through coaching them to use effective teaching, thereby maximizing your child's gains. We take into consideration parents' concerns, individual child's needs, and family functioning as a whole.Our ServicesAchievements Unlimited is located in Calgary and provides FSCD funded specialized services and behavioural aide services. We are an integrated trans-disciplinary team of therapists, specialized in the areas of speech language pathology, occupational therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA). Our team has been working collaboratively in family homes to provide specialized services for over 5 years, with each member having 10 to 20 years of experience working with children with special needs.We have track record of success with clients having a variety of diagnoses including: autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities, oppositional defiant disorder, attention deficit disorders, cerebral palsy, non-verbal learning disorder, down syndrome, brain injury, global developmental delays, and others. Our approach combines developmental skill-building, engagement-based learning, and sensory integration with the science of applied behavior analysis (ABA) as the foundation of all of our work. We provide, and train others in implementing, research-based and results-focused therapy to achieve functional and significant outcomes with our clients.As well, we provide both group and individual training to parents, professionals, and paraprofessionals.
