Our goal is to make sure that people who need help with disability or aged care services in their communities receive high-quality support. In 2005, a group of service providers came together to create the Australian Community Industry Alliance (ACIA). They wanted to create an independent organization that could represent and support non-government organizations providing community services. ACIA was created to address the growing need for quality services in this industry. With the help of a grant from the Motor Accident Authority of NSW and the Westmead Brain Injury Unit, ACIA was established to promote and achieve its vision of providing respected and quality services that improve the lives of those who need them. What started as a local organization in NSW is now a national organization with a national agenda. Today, ACIA is still the only organization of its kind in Australia.
