© FOOTPRINT LEADERSHIP PROGRAM - TEAM BUILDING Often when you think about legacy or the Footprint you create, it's something that is left behind after a person has passed. Your Footprint is more about sharing what you have learned, not just what you have earned, and bequeathing values over valuables, as material wealth is only a small fraction of your Footprint. A more holistic definition of your Footprint is when you are genuinely grounded in offering yourself and making a meaningful, lasting and energising contribution to humanity by serving a cause greater than your own. The requirements of leaving a lasting Footprint are that you embrace your uniqueness, passionately immersing your whole self into life so that your gift will be to all and that you take responsibility to ensure that it will have a life beyond that of you, its creator, outliving and outlasting your time on earth. WHY TEAM BUILDING WITH A DIFFERENCE Many times, team building exercises only have an impact for a week or month after the event. Many questions have been asked why? The following Case Study highlights the problem. John and Peter do not see eye-to-eye at work. Management decided that the upcoming team building event will deal with the problem. The team building facilitator gets instructions to make sure that John and Peter is in the same team. The competitive nature of the human being draws John and Peter together and for the duration of the team building event and for some period after the event, John and Peter seems to have resolved their issues. The problem is that during the team building event, which its goals are based on fun activities, neither John nor Peter has had an opportunity to get to know themselves or any other person. The effect of this is that shortly after the team building event, John and Peter will pick up on their conflict and the animosity between them will grow deeper. The © Footprint Leadership Program will equip John and Peter with solutions.
