AcreList is an online marketplace for agricultural real estate (farmland and pasture land) that leverages a unique proximity-based alerts system to market land to farmers and landowners. While generation X farmers tend to spend little time on the internet compared to other demographic sets, the AcreList platform uses preferred communication channels for farmers, email and SMS, to alert them when farmland meeting the user's criteria is listed for sale. The farmer is only required to visit the AcreList website one time to create a simple 1 minute profile. After a profile is created the farmer will receive alerts with a short summary of matched listings and a link taking them directly to the listing page. The overall mission of AcreList is to provide transparency and comparability to the agricultural real estate market.
