European and international mobility are constantly increasing. The expatriates phenomenon is on the rise and is shaping a whole new segment of workforce and immigration. Qualified personnel is being posted in different countries to import the know-how and to improve international mobility. Expats are often associated to high wages and all comfort lives, but something changes when it comes to families. Often the expat worker relocates with all the family and companies are not ready to face this issue. Spouses of expats are too often cornered by the responsibilities of setting up a new life and dealing with the integration process, something that can take a long time if kids are involved as well. These are often highly skilled professionals, who gave up their jobs to support their partners and families. these are the people we call AcrossWorker. Sooner or later the across worker will feel the urge to re enter the labour market, but more than a challenge lies ahead: time gap in the cv, language and cultural barriers, lack of business network. All of these factors can negatively influence the recruitment process, wasting a highly skilled professional eager to regain access to the labour market and at a lower economic costs.
