ACTSA is the successor organisation to the Anti-Apartheid Movement; created in 1994 to eradicate the legacy of apartheid and campaign for rights, equality, and sustainable development in Southern Africa. Our goal is to engage people with political, civil, social and economic injustices in Southern Africa and to steer key people to drive change and deliver justice to those experiencing human rights violations and inequality. We work with regional civil society partners to protect human rights, fortify movements for equality and democracy, relieve poverty and promote public education and research. We carry out this work through:Campaigning & Advocacy work, through which we support local actors in Southern Africa and lobby decision-makers and influencers in the UK to demand change.Advancing education about the AAM and Southern Africa today; exposing the destructive legacies of apartheid and highlighting the causes of political, social, civil and economic injustices.Standing in solidarity with the people of Southern Africa, by facilitating South-South cooperation and solidarity between the UK and Southern Africa.ACTSA is not a funding agency; we do not have offices in Southern Africa.
