At Acton Academy St. George, we believe that every person, parent or child, who enters our doors will find a calling that will change the world. Parents and students that gravitate towards our philosophies of learning, are those that believe that who we become (our character) and the skills we develop, are far more important than memorizing facts and teaching to/taking standardized tests. We believe that learning to be, learning to do, and learning to learn, not just learning to know, are the foundation for learning. Acton Academy St. George is founded by Ian and Stephanie Lindsey. The love for their children, a deep passion for learning, and their entrepreneurial background make this another step, albeit an important one, in their Hero's Journey. Acton Academy St. George is modeled after the first Acton Academy in Austin, TX started by Jeff and Laura Sandefer. Ian was a former student of Jeff's at the Acton School of Business and they both are long-time fans of the Acton model, Ian and Stephanie were inspired to bring this remarkable educational model to St. George, UT. Acton Academy and Acton Academy St. George work in a very close collaborative relationship to share curricula, processes, systems, and strategies to help make each learner-driven community the best it possibly can be.
