City Government/Municipal Government - New York, NY, US
The Adam Smith Society — a project of the Manhattan Institute — is an expansive, chapter-based network of MBA students, professionals, and business leaders who value debate about the moral, social, and economic benefits of capitalism. Members of the "Smith Soc" network engage in meaningful dialogue about public policy, technology, entrepreneurship, and free enterprise with leading scholars, experts, and influencers from across the ideological spectrum. In addition to chapter-based lectures, debates, and dinners, the Adam Smith Society has an annual meeting and leadership retreat in New York City; destination-based treks for members to delve into classical texts; and one-off events, such as case competitions.Launched in 2011, in partnership with the Marilyn G. Fedak Capitalism Project, the society has grown to more than 9,000 members worldwide — with 30+ chapters at elite business school campuses and 9 professional chapters in major cities across the U.S. and abroad.
