Research - Basrah, Basra Governorate, Iraq
Adaptive GeoEnergy Research Center (AGRC) provides high-quality research, training and consulting services in reservoir characterization and simulation to oil and gas companies in Iraq using technology breakthroughs in geoscience and engineering. Our team members have expertise and diverse experience in the areas of integrated reservoir characterization, geomodeling, reservoir engineering and simulation, reservoir management, EOR/IOR, and unconventional resources.Specifically the AGRC provides solutions at the following categories:Applied Multivariate and Spatial Geostatistical Reservoir Modelling- Integration of Clustering Analysis, Multivariate Statistics, Machine Learning, and Statistical Learning Models for efficient petrophysical property modeling, robust reservoir characterization and flow modeling with uncertainty assessments.Development of the GDWS-AGD EOR Process- Working on overcoming the limitations of the Gas Assisted Gravity Drainage (GAGD) process application in real oil fields with strong aquifers by integration of Downhole Water Sink technology (DWS). In the new process, the vertical wells can be multi-completed for gas injection through the annulus and water production through the tubing, along with the horizontal producers for the oil production. It is expected from this new process to improve oil recovery, decrease the water cuts, and improve the gas injectivity.Statistical Reservoir Characterization, Simulation, and Optimization of IOR/EOR with Uncertainty Assessments- The objective is to build a full Lithofacies and petrophysical Geostatistical Reservoir Model in order to capture the most realistic geological environment for the IOR/EOR processes. Also, it included optimization of oil recovery under geological uncertainty and uncertainty assessment, in addition to investigate the effect of heterogeneity and anisotropy on the process.
