Adaptive learning is an educational method which uses self learning algorithms to adapt and customize the learning materials to the unique needs of the individual student. The learning materials adapt themselves on the fly according to the responses of the students on questions and tasks. Adaptive learning has its origins in psychology, psychometrics and artificial intelligence. In 2009 the University of Amsterdam, department of Psychology embedded adaptive learning for the first time in a, nowadays successfully and widespread, maths and language courses on Dutch elementary schools. We work in close collaboration with the University of Amsterdam.Accepted technologyOn the Gartner Hype Cycle adaptive learning is sliding in the trough which means it is accepted as an emerging technology and on it's way to settle into acceptance and establish itself as a sustainable market product. Now the time is here to enroll this adaptive learning algorithm to the corporate learning environments. Our mission.True adaptive learning is based on a number of conditions / variables the student provides while learning. This adaptive learning has no underlying navigation, is item level based and provides very rich assessment and scoring abilities. The algorithm provides, real-time adaptations based on learner performance and behavior. It is a self learning algorithm. Our intelligent software has emerged from psychometric research, or research into how we can measure students' skills. Only by being able to properly measure where students are, it is also possible to let students practice at their own level.
