Annual Institute on Addiction Studies (presented by Addiction Studies Forum Inc. The Annual Institute on Addiction Studies is an annual conference for those who are working in the front line of the addiction treatment field.Since the summer of 1959, the Annual Institute on Addiction Studies has delivered quality education and self-care opportunities to front-line addiction workers, social workers, EAP professionals and peer referral agents. The Institute has a long standing reputation for providing a conference that leaves you feeling refreshed, recharged and a little wiser than when you got here. Our programming is tailored to meet the educational requirements of everyone who attends and at the same time provides the attending delegate with the self-care tools necessary to survive in the addictions field. In 2004, Alcohol and Drug Concerns Canada handed over the reins to a group of people who agreed that the Annual Institute on Addiction Studies should continue to be governed by an entity on a non-profit basis. As a result, Addiction Studies Forum Inc. was created to ensure that the Institute would continue with its high standards and reputation that past delegates have become accustomed to. Addiction Studies Forum Inc. is staffed by a Board of Directors and a Planning Committee that meet on a regular basis throughout the year to ensure the Institute provides delegates with the latest techniques and theories in the field of addiction counselling.
