Here at additive supply, we aim to create high quality filaments with the goal of sustainability in mind. Using our in-house filament extruder, we use environmentally friendly materials and try to eliminate as much waste as possible by creating the perfect spool of filament each time. While this kind of technology is new and upcoming, we are still rising from humble beginnings and have been keeping our vision of environmentally-sound filament production as our main motivation.With that being said, we use PLA which is created from waste which is biodegradable. However, almost all plastics will outlive our existence, PLA is known for degrading much faster than other materials. Most natural PLAs are made out of corn which means that it is food safe as long as other materials such as color additives are food safe as well. We hope that using PLA as an alternative to petroleum plastics will help other manufacturers to make the shift to more green methods and materials. In addition to using cleaner materials, for both economic and environmental reasons, Additive Supply tries to create as little product waste as possible by thorough research and development stages so that when our products reach your machines they have been created with the most accuracy and precision.
