The ADFONTES Consort of Music ensemble calls for able, motivated and talented singers and instrumentalists - with skills ranging from enthusiastic conservatory students to seasoned professionals with soloistic abilities – who have the desire to foster, ignite and embody a real renaissance of sacred music!Grounded in the treasures of our multi-secular tradition and practice but also looking boldly forward to the future, my aim as a composer and founder of this new ensemble, is to contribute in reviving the fruitful relation between Art, Community and Faith. Therefore, the ADFONTES Consort of Music will be primarily dedicated to the creation of a substantial body of new qualitative music of my own composition: exuberant or meditative concert psalms, festive musical masses, thematic oratorios and cantatas - on acute contemporary issues and for recognized good causes.During the first 2019/20 season, we aim to constitute a medium-sized instrumental and vocal ensemble of about 12 vocalists and 12 instrumentalists, to be expanded further over time.This early ADFONTES Consort of Music core will perform about 5 festive and thematic musical masses, followed by two concerts the same week, evenly spread every 2 to 3 months over the season and starting with a first creation concert end of November 2019. End of 2020, the Ensemble will premiere a major new oratorio as closure of the first season.Two catered choral rehearsals per month with a professional piano/organ accompanist, as well as one monthly catered orchestral rehearsal are foreseen, in a relaxed but productive & creative workshop atmosphere and spirit. Rehearsals and performances will be held in two historical churches in Brussels, and are foreseen to be recorded live in audio and video formats.Wether you are a dedicated and skilled professional chorister, an able and sensible soloist, a talented and experienced instrumentalist or a person simply glad to help us otherwise than musically: we value your help !
