Nonprofit Organization Management - Phnom Penh, Phnom Penh, Cambodia
The Analyzing Development Issues Centre (ADIC) was registered with the Royal Government of Cambodia's Ministry of the Interior on 4 April 2011. The local NGO was established by staff of the Cooperation Committee of Cambodia (CCC)'s Analyzing Development Issues (ADI) Project. CCC initiated the ADI Project in 1999 and decided to phase it out as part of its internal restructuring at the end of 2011. For more than a decade the ADI Project organized training courses to develop critical thinking and analytical skills of Cambodian NGO managers and field workers to improve programs in response to changing conditions in Cambodia. The courses enabled participants to understand development issues in Cambodia, to develop their ability to link micro experiences to macro trends, and to build their confidence to meaningfully contribute to discussions and debates. The courses, which centered mainly on participatory action research (PAR) and policy studies, emphasized analysis while providing skills to participants in conducting field research. ADI research findings were widely disseminated and presented at provincial, national and international conferences. ADI research results likewise appeared as articles and book chapters in local and international publications. ADIC continues the legacy of the ADI Project by developing the capacity of NGOs and People's Organizations (POs) in critical thinking and analytical skills through involvement in PAR and policy research that benefits local communities
