The name "Adiyvo" is a wordplay from the Latin word "adiuvo", meaning, "I help". The concept for Adiyvo came about when one of the founders (a first time home-owner) was attempting to fix a leaky basement faucet. He requested the help of his neighbor (an expert plumber) but their schedules never aligned. In the meantime he spent countless hours "researching" on YouTube, attempting to find a solution fitting his specific problem. Not having much success, he wondered how to find exactly what he needed without the hassle of sifting through results not matching his situation. That's when the idea came: what if there were other experienced people willing to give advice and offer assistance on projects like this…? Expanding on that simple concept he, along with some like minded friends, created Adiyvo.We – at Adiyvo – aim to leverage technology to create a global platform to share knowledge and to empower homeowners and non-homeowners alike who want to DIY. We know that some skills can only be learned through experience, and we also know that there is always someone out there willing to lend a hand.
