ATMSBuilds Wireless (Real Time) temperature profiling systems for the powder coating industry.I worked as an Electrical Engineer for 35 years trouble shooting and designing high speed high resolution A/D converters. In 2011 I helped my son start DJ Powder Coating (www.djpowdercoating.com) and that's where THE BOX idea originated. My son and I were at a seminar back in the spring of 2013. The speakers kept harping on the need to own a temperature profiling box. The premise they were selling was how it improves quality and oven through put which improves revenues. I had a hard time seeing how a profiling system that I had to wait to see the results after the part came out of the oven would be beneficial. The only thing that made since was a real time profiling system, but the price on a wireless system was so expensive that it was hard to justify. I decided to build a system that was wireless, could stay in the oven for an extended period of time and be reasonably priced. Having been designing state of the art electronic chips for 35 years I knew the electronics was something I could figure out. The tough part was THE BOX. So after a great deal of investigation and experiments I finally came up with a solution. The next years were spent refining and testing to insure a good reliable product. I also realized that I would need to come up with a new philosophy on probes. The probes on the market were not meant to be used while powder coating a part. I spent a lot of time working on a very small footprint probe for ferrous and nonferrous material that could fit inside small spaces and track the parts temperature while powder coating the part.
