Architecture & Planning - Cairo, Cairo Governorate, Egypt
The field of architecture and interior design has recently been taking a turn on the right track. Moving away from catering to the concept, it is gravitating towards catering to the human within the concept more than ever now. The workplace – being the obligate counterpart of the residence – has always represented a key focus of architectural endeavors. The topic of workplace design tentatively entered architectural discourse, research, and literature in the 1960s, and saw an exponential surge in the 1980s. To date however, very few – if any – holistic guidelines have been distilled to govern the concepts and best practices of workplace design. Adze Designs has formulated a unique approach to workplace design resting upon three foundational pillars: the personae for which the space is being designed, the institution for which the design is taking place, and the science uncovered in the last 3 decades informing the practice of workplace design. The functionality of the workplace lies at the crux of the intermingling and overlapping needs of these 3 parties. Our approach espouses a philosophy, not of compromise, but of synergy, promoting maximal collective output for all stakeholders involved.
