Buildings account for 40 % of the energy consumption in industrialized countries, whereby 70 % of the existing Building Automation Technology (BAT) operates insufficiently. Data-driven optimization of BAT can be a fast and resource-efficient method generating high impact. Requirements are accessibility to and efficient interpretation of BAT operational data. Our deep building monitoring platform-based solution extracts raw data of BAT, files it in time series databases and enables visualization and further processing. Tools to evaluate data and recommend suitable actions use machine learning technology and expert knowledge and empower stakeholders to enhance buildings' performance. We strive to enable cloud-based control and optimization of building automation technologies. Interconnected building operation compensates for renewable energies' volatile generation to contribute to the future energy system. We want to co-create the energy system of the future and are government-funded by the EXIST – Transfer of research of the BMWi - Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy to do so. A transparently operated built environment is possible and we develop a cloud-based IoT-tool for everyone involved.
