Nonprofit Organization Management - , Michigan, United States
Launched in late 2014 by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME), the Association for Executives in Health Information Security, or AEHIS, has over 600 members worldwide, and is made up of senior and executive-level information security leaders in healthcare.Healthcare security weaves its way through every device in a provider's office, including the methods and tools providers use to communicate both inside the office and to the outside world. Security breaches make headline news, from ransom-ware infections to hackers obtaining scores of protected health information. In some ways, healthcare security staff are the nervous system of a provider, constantly responding to internal and external information and deciding how to react appropriately to threats. AEHIS supports its information security leaders because we understand that now more than ever, healthcare security leaders must be prepared for effective interaction and participation at the corporate leadership level and that security and security risk management needs to be integrated into the strategy and culture of our organizations.AEHIS' goal is to assist information security leaders in elevating security and information risk management to a strategic business risk management matter by providing its members resources for education, professional development, and collaboration.
