AEL (International Holdings) Limited is a spin-off from Associated Engineers and focuses on the Research and Development of Food Waste Treatment Solution. AEL introduce food waste composting to the Hong Kong market back in 2009. It has since co-operated with Hong Kong Productivity Council and China Southern Agriculture University to develop aerobic digestion technology for food waste treatment. AEL has filed for several patents related to food waste treatment: Compact multi-level biological filter for odor removal and aerobic digestion for food waste treatment. Since 2014 AEL and HKPC, along with City University, has joined hands to develop a revolution waste-to-energy solution that produces no wastewater, 50% more energy than the convention Anaerobic Digestion system, and one third the processing time.
