AeroClub IIST Details
We are a group of aviation and space enthusiasts at the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram. We believe that a more practical approach to learning is fundamental to engineering. While classroom learning provides a much needed theoretical and practical basis, it has to ensure a fundamental level of knowledge for every student and thus cannot support students to go beyond what is taught in class and engage in advanced learning. This is where we come in. We provide a platform for students at IIST to engage in hands-on learning through workshops, demonstrations, and AeroClub Summer Projects and conduct discussions, guest lectures, and quizzes to impart additional information and provide perspective to the students. We believe in making learning a fun experience and thus, organize Go-Public events to engage the community. We also engage with school students and college groups outside IIST with an intention of popularizing the science and engineering that goes behind the technological advancements and inspire the next generation.
