Stared in 1987 as Austin Electronic Salvage as a surplus electronics recycler, the company evolved to a used PC company to then the third largest new PC provider in Austin. AES provided many of the high tech companies, enthusiasts and consumers in Austin with hardware ranging from complete PCs, to processors, to raid storage systems, up to rare and hard to find technology solutions. The company grew to 35 employees and over $7 million annual sales before the company was acquired in 2002.
