We're a team of engineers and designers passionate about crafting tools to serve online communities. We started out building Aether's peer-to-peer network of self-moderated communities, experimenting with democratic governance and subjective moderation with community Subs familiar to Reddit users. We also write about these topics extensively in our blog to share what we learned while building better online communities.In 2019, our team started building Hosted Universes to support those who want to create private communities. After two years of user research and iterative development, we are finally ready to share it with the world!
