Afaq was established in 2004 as a bookstore and a publishing house in Cairo by Mostafa El-Sheikh and Sawsan Beshir. Thereafter Afaq began to invest more in publishing philosophy works and classics alongside contemporary Arabic literature.Publishing industry has faced many challenges throughout the last decade in Egypt, but Afaq has managed to get through all these obstacles till it became one of the leading Arab publishers in philosophy and scientific works alongside with translating a lot of contemporary literary works.Afaq catalog contains more than 400 titles, appropriately half of them are translated from different languages such as Russian, English, French, German, Persian and Spanish.Afaq aims to be one of the pioneer publishers that provide the Arab book market with more titles in philosophy and science throughout many upcoming projects.
