We create innovative poverty-alleviation programs that empower African families, communities and countries, while forging partnerships with American universities to support our cutting-edge aid programs. Our School Lunch Program (SLP) provided a nutritious daily lunch to more than 200 refugee students in the Buduburam Liberian Refugee Settlement in Ghana, providing an incentive to participate in school and improving their nutritional well-being.Our Skills Education and Microfinance (SEAM) initiative combines skills training with small-scale loans to empower women and men to grow enterprises and gain more open access to markets in Ghana. Students in a graduate Microfinance course at UC San Diego contributed to the design of the project, and traveled to Ghana with Africa Aid to assist with implementation.
