Empowerment Fund (AEF) is a social impact fund that seeks to increase the pool of investment- ready small and medium-sized enterprises ( SMEs) in sub-Saharan Africa in order to unlock more private equity capital to support the growth of these firms. Our raison d'etre is job creation. AEF is pioneering a replicable business model that leverages private equity capital to enhance the productive capacities of SMEs to not only become profitable, but also create jobs, improve livelihoods and alleviate poverty.
