The African Carbon Trust (ACT) is a non-profit trust focussed on awareness, innovation, advocacy, and assurance. The African Carbon Trust was founded by Interactive Africa, the innovative marketing entrepreneurs behind the HIP2B2 campaign and the internationally recognised and awarded winning design event, Design Indaba.ACT answers the need for an African platform that will facilitate and motivate all Africans to join forces in managing the continent's carbon footprint and mitigating the effects of climate change while at the same time stimulating sustainable growth.The African Carbon Trust is a stand-alone entity. Its founding partners are marketing partner Interactive African, Bowman Gilfillan as legal partner and KPMG as technical advisors.ACT will encourage innovation in the African design space by creating competitions, incentivising designers and sundry to submit their great renewable, clean energy designs, products and processes.ACT encourages earth activism in the public by giving them easy, innovative solutions to reduce, reuse and if push comes to shove – recycle. All initiatives will track the results of individual efforts, build a sense of community and elicit a sustainable result both to people and environment.
