Education Management - Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, Nigeria
The African Center for Innovation and Leadership Development (ACILD) is a registered international non-governmental development organization located registered in Nigeria and Canada with offices in Toronto, Nairobi and Abuja. It was created to provide the finest resources for fostering innovation and leadership in Africa through the empowerment of science and technology researchers and leaders, especially youth and women. Our hope is that this capacity building will trickle down to improved food security, poverty alleviation and overall economic development within the continent. Our mission is to be a legendary reference point for developing leadership and excellence in science, innovation and development. Our vision is a continent in which researchers and innovators, particularly those who are women and youth, have the needed resources for fostering development in science, technology and innovation. As reflected in the name, ACILD has two broad strategies, each of which are focused on leadership and innovation. We therefore created two broad programs that are tailored to the goals of the organization. The first is the Leadership & Ethics Institute, which provides courses and workshops for researchers at African universities and special leadership programs for youth. The second arm is the Innovation & Trust Program, which is focused on facilitating trust building while exploring, and mitigating, ethical and cultural issues with promoting innovation in Africa. .
