The African Digital Education Trust (ADET) is a digital education and technology Not-for Profit committed to nurturing a generation of young Africans to achieve an advanced, internationally competitive standard in Science, Technology, English and Mathematics. ADET provides access to high quality, relevant digital curriculum resources for students and teachers, covering educational leadership, computer literacy, blended learning, differentiated classrooms, digital teaching plans, and the use of STEM digital content. Recognising the inefficacy of current tradiitional teaching and learning (chalk and talk, poor textbook/resources and inadequately trained teachers), ADET capitalizes on the significant opportunities presented by the growth in smart device technology, specifically tablets, in sub-Saharan Africa. Active in South Africa and East Africa, the ADET program focusses on low-income and under supported students and schools from regional and urban townships.
