The African Network of Youth Policy Experts (AfriNYPE) came alive during First Global Forum on Youth Policies in Baku, Azerbaijan.Sequel to the global forum, African delegates engaged in intensive dialogues and did situation analysis of youth policies in the region, mapping and SWOT analysis followed by concrete document that led to the emergence of AfriNYPE. A privileged meeting and deliberations with the UN Envoy on Youth Mr Ahmed Alhendawi and the youthpolicy.org team (one of the partners that convened the Baku Forum) on the AfriNYPE's mission, objectives and plans for advancing youth policy work in African region led to the announcement of the platform openly at the closing session of the Global Forum. AfriNYPE was established by African delegates to enhance advocacy for youth policy implementations and realisations among African countries by persuading Africa's UN Member States to renew their commitments regarding implementing youth policies on the continent. The network will also facilitate knowledge development on youth policies.
