African Passions Details
African Passions aims to Unlock Opportunities through supervised academic performance and organised sport. We hope to act as the stepping-stone to allow communities and individuals to overcome limitations. We have named our project the Sports and Life Skills (SLS) Development Project. We believe sport is a great vehicle to develop life skills and character-building attributes such as; discipline, punctuality, commitment, responsibility, camaraderie and leadership, to name just a few. These are invaluable skills that will serve them, and their communities, well in the future. African Passions establishes football league structures, where teams, consisting of local players, coaches, and managers, provide an enriching platform for all involved. Managers, coaches, and referees volunteer their time to benefit current communities, who in turn will provide for future generations. In addition to team participation, we do not undervalue the importance of excelling academically. Thus, each player (also a student) is monitored and rewarded for their performance in schools. Relationships between school principles and team managers assure that players meet outlined academic expectations. To enhance independence, teams can submit a Self-Generating Income proposal. This business plan will provide each team with enough earnings to cover necessary costs to run their team, providing invaluable business experience. We teach people the importance of succeeding ON and OFF the pitch.
