Teachers are making a great deal of sacrifice in training, mentoring, and equipping students all over the world. But in several developing countries, they are largely underpaid, undervalued, and under-served.Studies have shown that while teachers have "a continued desire for meaningful professional development and recognition of their experience," strenuous factors such as poor pay, insufficient resources, and ineffective education policies render such fundamental needs idealistic in the African experience.Teachers deserve better! Using advocacy, community engagement and capacity development, we are shaping policy formation, increasing teaching performance, and fostering favourable narratives about the teaching profession.
