The African Youth Awaken (AYA) was founded in 2018 in Lusaka, Zambia. AYA is anorganisation dealing with issues affecting women, youths and children. It is a membershiporganisation currently present in Lusaka province of Zambia. The organisation is involved in thefight against Drugs and Alcohol abuse, GBV, child marriage, and the rights of young people inthe communities. In trying to reduce the vulnerability of women, youths and girls to violence, theorganisation has embarked on programmes to promote awareness on human rights, GBV, alcoholand drugs abuse, and access to justice for young people through a project called AWAKEN.
