Age UK Kensington & Chelsea (the operating name for Age Concern Kensington & Chelsea) supports older people to remain connected within the community, offering flexible services designed with the views and preferences of our members in mind. These range from befriending, escorting, practical help and homecare to intergenerational IT coaching and friendship groups based on shared interests. Our dementia work encourages people with the condition to claim their place in our community and our information and advice team deals with enquiries ranging from benefits to support planning for personal budget holders. We work with volunteers aged 14 to 94 and often follow the transition of members from active volunteer to those needing support to remain at home. The principle for our way of working is that there is no wrong door. Age UK Kensington and Chelsea is the result of the merger of Age Concern K&C and Sixty Plus in 2009. Age Concern began in 1973 and was incorporated in 2000. We are a registered charity number: 1082658.
