The AHK Central Asia is part of the network of German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHKs), consisting of bilateral Chambers of Commerce Abroad, delegations and representative offices of German business. AHKs are institutions of German foreign trade promotion. They advise, support and represent German companies worldwide that want to establish or expand their foreign business. These days, there are AHKs in 92 countries with 140 locations worldwide. The Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce e. V. (DIHK) coordinates and continuously develops the network of German Chambers of Commerce Abroad. They are proportionately funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi). The Delegation of German Economy in Central Asia / AHK Zentralasien was established in Almaty, Kazakhstan in 1994. Since 2008, it represents the whole region with countries Kazakhstan, Kirgistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan in the framework of business cooperation between Germany and Central Asia. It has the following main tasks: - Official representation: Together with Germany's missions abroad (i.e. embassies and consulates) it officially represents the interests of Germany's industry and commerce in respect of political and administration authorities in the host region. - Member organizations: The AHK Central Asia works closely with the Association of German economy in the Republic Kazakhstan and the German Economy Club in the Republic Uzbekistan. Together they put a lot of effort in intensifying and improving the whole spectrum of business relations between Germany and the Central Asian countries. - Service provider: Under the service brand "DEinternational" it provides services to German and local companies which are globally harmonized and special services according to special requirements of the very location.
