Ailefo was founded in 2015.In a small factory on the beautiful island of Bornholm, Denmark, Ailefo produces organic modeling clay. Ailefo was the first brand ever to introduce organic modeling clay to the European market. Being the mother of a very creative daughter, Ailefo's founder Christiane wanted to create a product, that removed her concern for what her daughter might absorbe through the skin and mouth during her creative play. Equally important, the product should not harm the environment in which the daughter was to grow up.Being a registered anesthesia nurse and aware of the high number of allergy cases among even very young children today, she also wanted the product to be allergy friendly by the highest possible standards.At home and with the help of her daughter, Christiane worked intensively to develop Ailefo Organic Modeling Clay. They kneaded and mixed ingredients over and over again in the pan inherited from her daughter ́s grandparents. It stuck to their fingers, was too dry, the colors were sad or rubbed off. Hundreds of recipes were tested, before they finally had the one for Ailefo Organic Modeling Clay.Ailefo Organic Modeling Clay was launched October 2016. A very allergy friendly product with equally high standards regarding sustainability and Scandinavian design.
