One global association!Originally conceived in 1974, as the Independent Aviation Handlers Association (IAHA), focussing on European airport and ground handling related issues, the Airport Services Association (ASA) has now grown into the globally recognised trade association for the ground and air cargo handling industry. Working closely with affiliate associations in North and South America and the Caribbean, ASA represents the sector's interests in an increasingly complex and regulated aviation landscape. Our work has perhaps become even more important and relevant, as the fundamental shift in the management of airline ground operations continues. Once regarded as a core airline activity, the vast majority of airlines, away from their hub operations, now outsource their ground and air cargo handling activities to specialist Ground Service Providers (GSPs).
