Airspace Unlimited is an innovator in airspace usage. Our aim is to reduce fuel burn and thereby greenhouse gas emissions from aviation. Applications include:• Strategic airspace design. We are able to model optimum horizontal routes for civil users to study the interactions with military airspace reservations, civil route closures (to manage capacity constraints) and more permanently closed airspace (for geopolitical reasons).• ANSP charging and revenue analysis. Our tools can inform on the impacts of charges on traffic and how to minimise environmental impacts through appropriate charging, as well as revenue impacts from changing traffic patterns, e.g. from new airports and geopolitical forces.• Assuring optimum airspace usage. We can evaluate the impacts on civil users of military mission planning. With this knowledge, the military is able to assure civil users that their planning balances national security needs against commercial and environmental impacts.• Optimisation of military airspace reservations. Our longer term offer is to provide a daily information feed to military mission planners, indicating where best to locate their training missions to minimise environmental impact. By adjusting the location and timing of military airspace activations, the impact on civil flights is minimised at the pre-tactical phase; and is therefore invisible to airlines, who tend to plan 6-12 hours before a flight.
