AIT AI Center which launched late last year under the leadership of Prof. Matthew Dailey, ICT Department head, and Dr. Mongkol Ekpanyapong, head of the Industrial Systems Engineering Department, the center aims to be a center for leading artificial intelligence R&D lab in the region. AI Center has been developing systems with capabilities that can imitate human cognitive functions and with a brain for a logo visions to benefit the world with homegrown intelligent applications. It is a silent revolution taking place wherever we get down to work as the economic model is shifting to a model based on creativity, innovation, new technology and high-quality service. The need for Autonomous agents operating in an uncontrolled environment is highly realized and the simple answer is Thailand 4.0 agenda. The AI Center hosts a diverse group of researchers working on next-generation technologies that are tackling some of Thailand's thorniest problems. The labs currently deployed and ongoing projects largely relies on Computer vision and it has a wide range of applications in many areas of Detecting engagement patterns, Efficient incident management,Visual Inspection, Fall recognition, crowd affinity tracking, facial recognition, heat map and clothing recognition. The labs other projects involves potential agriculture solutions for predictive crop planting, precision farming, pattern recognition, tree measurement, crop planting and de-weeding with the use of laser scanners and drones with sophisticated modeling capabilities. Also agriculture being a promising field of application the Lab offer radical transformation while rapidly rectifying the problem helping the farmer to take the precaution by predictive analysis of the data gathered and increase the yield and profits without risking the crop.
