Retail - Beirut, Beirut, Lebanon
Mr. Moussallem Akil opened his first clothing store on Hamra Baalbak street in Beirut in 1989. Although it was an immediate success, the constraints of the war forced Akil to open another store that same year in Tyre, in the south of Lebanon, to secure his investment. Witnessing the potential for an array of stores carrying the same kinds of products, Akil successively opened seven more popular stores across the country in the following years.Akil's initial offering covered a wide selection of clothes and shoes for men, women and children, in a variety of styles, from formal to casual. Akil rapidly began introducing home accessories and furniture to its stores, mimicking the offering of upscale department stores.Today, Akil Group operates 11 stores across Lebanon and has become a successful and popular retailer in the country, employing around 400 people.Hamra - Bourj Hammoud - Kaslik - Tripoli - Ghobeiry - Choueifat - Chtaura - Baalback - Saida - Tyre - Nabatieh.
