Akiri is a Nintendo-inspired electronic pop band from Denmark. They were founded by a musical blind date on the internet in 2007 and in 2010 Akiri's first CD, Dead Dumb Dolls, was released by Red Key Records – ever since the band has toured in China, starting with the Danish Pavilion at Expo2010, followed by eight big concerts in four big chineese cities. Akiri broadens the 8-bit genre with catchy pop-melodies, hook lines, strings and suits. Music: Akiri is a Nintendo-electronic blend with sampled vocals, loops, strings and instruments you didn't even know existed. In China Akiri worked with Michael Ohlsson from Shanghai, also known as Antidote and originally from San Francisco, where he among other things arranged Oasis' first US-tour. Ohlsson said about Akiri that: "Their songs rock like Crystal Castles, but singer Anna Lidell's soaring vocals are instantly catchy and infectious like Feist."
