Akonadi Foundation Details
Akonadi Foundation is one of the first place-based family foundations to make racial justice a central focus of our giving. We follow the lead of organizers on the frontlines of the movement for a racially just Oakland. For more than two decades, we have invested audaciously in Black and people of color-led organizing to make Oakland a beacon of justice and liberation for the nation. Since 2000, Akonadi has given more than 1,800 grants totaling $43 million to organizations that center power building and organizing in Black communities and communities of color. Our philanthropy is focused on organizing, advocacy, and healing and culture to build the power and voice of communities of color. Learn more at akonadi.org.
