The Akron Digital Media Center (ADMC) is a non-profit digital media group that works to enhance coverage of community news and information. We offer hands-on workshops covering citizen journalism, new media technology and digital video production. We also operate a Mac-based computer lab and digital media lending library.We provide free citizen journalism workshops that use classroom and hands-on techniques to train community members to tell compelling, neighborhood news, entertainment and informational stories with journalistic integrity and visual appeal. Our workshops can provide the skills and resources to create compelling neighborhood stories using digital video, photography, audio and new media tools.The ADMC also built Akronist.com, a community media website where citizen journalists post and share video stories, podcasts, photo journals and written articles; blog about local topics of interest; engage in constructive conversations; and showcase local talent and creativity.The ADMC is made possible by support from the Akron Community Foundation, the John S. and James L.
